Our Mission
At League of Shepherds, our mission is to preserve and enhance the legacy of the West German Show-line German Shepherd through ethical, responsible breeding practices. We are dedicated to producing dogs of exceptional temperament, structural soundness, and working ability — true to the breed’s heritage. Each of our German Shepherds is a valued member of our family and is raised with love, socialization, and purposeful training to ensure they excel as loyal companions, capable working dogs, and champions in the show ring. Our commitment is to uphold the highest standards of health, genetics, and conformation, contributing meaningfully to the integrity and future of the breed.
We only use sires from reputable and trusted breeders in order to uphold our mission.

What is a West German Show-line German Shepherd?

This is a German Shepherd that is bred with the intention of being presented in a show ring, and has an angulation in their back. This angulation is often referred to as a "slope back" or "roached back". Breeders will be extremely focused on the overall structure and appearance of the dog, rather than their drive potential. They are bred for conformation, with physical traits like coloration, size, bone structure, and head shape catered towards a more aesthetic presentation. They are generally black and red, with some being black and tan or solid black in color.
In addition to this, their drive is lower than the working line. Because of this, show-line German Shepherds are easier to live with and train. Additionally, they are calmer or more stable than their working line counterparts. This makes them a better choice to have around children or a family environment as a whole.

Meet the Breeder
Hello! My name is Lyn Randall and I operate League of Shepherds with my partner, Adam. I also get a lot of help from my daughter, Olivia, and my son, Shane. Together, we raise beautiful and well-balanced puppies.

We chose to breed West German Showline German Shepherds because we believe that they are the embodiment of loyalty, strength, bravery, and confidence. Our dogs are raised inside our home with us, as family. Along with our dogs, we also have a cat named Kahn. Kahn inadvertently helps us socialize the puppies, but he's really just lurking around for attention.

Our little family likes to spend time at Adam's family cabin, fishing and enjoying the tranquility of the lake. When we're home, we play board games, watch movies, attend my son's baseball games, go bowling, play video games, and enjoy the outdoors - even if it's just a walk with the dogs!
